Center for Homeland Security Training
The University of Tennessee's Center for Homeland Security Training is funded through grants from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, by a partnership with the Louisiana State University National Center for Biomedical Research and Training Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education, and the University of Tennessee's Institute for Public Service.
Mission Statement
To provide innovative training and technical assistance to local, state, and federal government agencies at the forefront of our nation's evolving homeland security mission. This training centers on the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to develop and execute strategies to prevent, deter, and respond when necessary to terrorist acts.
Commitment to First Responders
The Center for Homeland Security Training (CHST)assists in the development of national and statewide curriculum training for law enforcement officers and other officials. CHST is committed to helping first responders nationwide by:
- Ensuring that emergency response professionals are prepared, equipped, and trained for any situation
- Bringing together information and resources to prepare for and respond to a terrorist attack, natural disaster, or other large-scale emergency
Most of our training is grant funded, but some training is provided through “fee for service." Costs for specialized training and specifically tailored seminars are determined based on location, topic, and number of participants. Please contact us to discuss your training needs and funding.
