Southeastern Command & Leadership Academy
The Southeastern Command and Leadership Academy (SECLA) is a dynamic seven-week law enforcement leadership and management program designed for progressive and innovative police managers. SECLA prepares mid and upper level supervisory personnel for the increased responsibility of administrative command positions by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful leadership in their agency and community.
The SECLA curriculum was developed by a team of national experts in the field of policing and is delivered by these same experts to ensure integrity of delivery. All instructors are seasoned law enforcement professionals; have earned a PhD in Criminal Justice or a related field; teach at a major university; and have published related books or articles in peer-reviewed journals. The Curriculum covers current issues and information police administrators rely upon to adequately respond to the diverse demands of an executive position.

SECLA Session Seven Graduation
A graduation ceremony for the SECLA's Seventh Session was held January 25, 2008 at the University Center on the University of Tennessee Chattanooga campus. This session represents law enforcement agencies from Arkansas, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee.
SECLA Session Eight Announcement
Applications for the Eighth Session of the SECLA are currently being accepted. Since only twenty-five (25) individuals are selected, applications should be submitted promptly. SECLA prepares mid and upper level supervisory personnel for the increased responsibility of administrative command positions by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful leadership in their agency and community.
Funding Changes
