Emily Miller is a Curriculum Specialist with the LEIC. She joined the LEIC in June 2008. Miller hails from Chicago, Illinois and after completing her bachelor’s degree at DePaul University she relocated to south Florida.  Emily worked for the national leadership organization LeadAmerica as a Program Coordinator and Leadership Specialist. Miller co-developed LeadAmerica’s college-accredited personal development curriculum and facilitated experiential learning workshops to over 4,000 high school and college-aged students throughout the United States. During her graduate studies she acted as a Coordinator to the Women & Politics Institute's International Women as Leaders program at American University.

Emily is responsible for collaborating with LEIC's subject matter experts and criminal justice practitioners to create and develop innovative law enforcement training.  She conducts needs assessments, job task analysis, and curriculum validations to ensure what is being taught is meeting the needs of law enforcement. Emily also serves as LEIC's grant writer, and has written numerous grants that have been awarded. 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University in Secondary Education and English, and a master’s degree in International Training and Education from American University in Washington, DC.  Emily is a certified Curriculum Developer by ATD.
