Chris is LEIC's Training Specialist and oversees various courses, including the U.S. Department of State’s international weapons of mass destruction segments as well as the TN Office of Criminal Justice Program's STOP domestic violence initiative. Chris also serves as an instructor for several of LEIC’s classes, including security and vulnerability, domestic violence, leadership, emergency management, active shooter response for businesses & corporations, and others as needed. Prior to joining LEIC, he was a sworn Officer for the Kingsport Police Department. He has also worked as a supervisor in the alternative energy field, building various wind energy sites in many regions across the country and internationally.
Chris is certified through the American Crime Prevention Institute as a Crime Prevention Specialist and a Security Assessment Specialist. He is also a Certified Practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator instrument (MBTI).
Chris has an MBA with a specialization in Human Resource Management from King University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from East Tennessee State University, and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Northeast State Community College. He is an active member in the Smoky Mountain Chapter of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International) and the TN Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP). He also serves on the TN Department of Education's Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security Industry Advisory Council.
